FAQ

Questions people ask

What is 2A Repair?

2A Repair is a free guide to home, auto and yard repairs that connects you with a local repair pro from the 2A business community. Tell us what needs fixing and your ZIP code, and we'll connect you with the pro who serves your area for that repair.

Does it cost anything to request a repair?

No. Requesting a repair through 2A Repair is free with no obligation. Each repair pro sets their own prices, so ask for a written estimate before work begins.

Do I have to support the Second Amendment to use 2A Repair?

No. Anyone can request a repair. The '2A' describes the community of businesses behind the network, who choose to list here.

How do I choose a good repair pro?

Confirm any license and insurance your state requires for the work, ask for a written estimate and warranty terms, and check reviews and references. Be wary of anyone who asks for full payment up front or pressures you to decide on the spot.

Can I fix it myself?

Some small jobs — like changing an air filter or resetting a tripped breaker once — are fine for most people, but gas, electrical, roof and refrigerant work can be dangerous and often requires a licensed pro. If you smell gas, leave the home and call your gas utility or 911.

Is anything on this site professional advice?

No. 2A Repair is educational only. A qualified pro who inspects the problem in person is the only one who can diagnose it and quote a repair.
